Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada Clearset vac truck services Full time

Job Description

Are you tired of being treated like just another number? Fed up with the same routine, day in and day out? If you're looking for a place where your skills are respected, your effort is noticed, and your work actually matters — it's time for a refreshing change.

Come join Clearset, a family-owned and operated vacuum truck company with over 20 years of trusted service in our community. We're not just offering a job — we're inviting you to become part of a team that looks out for each other, takes pride in the work, and keeps the fleet running strong.

Position: Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Port Coquitlam + service support to our road crews / satellite yard (as needed)

What You'll Work On:

This is not a "same two trucks forever" kind of shop.

Our fleet and equipment range includes everything from:

  • Single-cylinder gasoline engines

  • Forklifts and excavators

  • Cars and light-duty trucks

  • Trailers and 5-tons

  • Up to tri-drive commercial trucks

Work Setup:

You'll work either:

  • Out of our shop, and/or

  • In our mobile mechanics service van responding to issues on the road or at our satellite yard

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay (based on your experience and skill set)

  • Full benefits package (dental, extended health, life, disability)

  • Paid time off

  • On-site gym + on-site parking

  • Company events and a supportive team culture

  • A workplace where good work gets noticed and appreciated

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative service to keep our fleet safe and reliable

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues (engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, braking, steering, suspension, etc.)

  • Handle a wide variety of equipment — from small engines to heavy trucks and commercial units

  • Support road calls and field repairs using our mobile mechanics van (roadside / satellite yard support)

  • Complete work orders, service logs, and maintenance records clearly and accurately

  • Order parts as needed and communicate repair timelines with the team

  • Welding and fabrication work as required (repairs, reinforcement, modifications)

  • Operate forklifts or other equipment as needed (when applicable)

  • Follow safety protocols and keep a clean, organized work area

Requirements / What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a mechanic (automotive, fleet, heavy equipment, or commercial transport)

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic ability

  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment/software

  • Welding/fabrication experience is a strong asset

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Able to work independently, but also contribute to a positive team environment

  • Able to troubleshoot calmly in high-demand situations (breakdowns happen — we solve them)

  • Good physical capability for hands-on mechanical work

Why Clearset?

Joining Clearset means being part of a legacy of excellence and a future full of opportunity. We're more than just a company — we're a team that works hard, supports each other, and takes pride in doing things the right way.
