Overview:

A leading Canadian engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking an
Engineering Analyst
to join its team in
Cambridge, Ontario
. This role plays a key part in the design and qualification of highly engineered components for critical applications in the power generation and energy sectors. The position offers the opportunity to apply advanced analytical methods and design principles to ensure the structural integrity, performance, and safety of complex equipment systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a range of engineering analysis and design qualification tasks as part of multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Apply finite element analysis (FEA), classical mechanics, and other analytical methods to assess and validate component designs.
  • Conduct structural, thermal, and heat transfer analyses, including:
  • Transient thermal analysis
  • CFD and heat-transfer modeling
  • Response spectrum and time-history seismic analysis
  • Flow-induced vibration assessment
  • Support project engineering through the preparation of design calculations, technical reports, and qualification documentation.
  • Evaluate non-conformances and provide design input to ensure compliance with technical specifications and industry codes.
  • Demonstrate compliance with applicable standards such as the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and related specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Mechanical Engineering
    or a related discipline with a strong foundation in
    solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer
    .
  • Minimum of
    5 years of experience
    in structural or thermal analysis within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with finite element analysis tools such as
    ANSYS
    or
    ABAQUS
    , and numerical packages like
    MathCAD
    or
    MATLAB
    .
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as
    ASME BPV Code
    and
    CSA S16
    (or equivalent structural codes) is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a technical team environment.
