Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. We are looking for an AZ Driver with a minimum of 1 year driving experience for Toronto to Montreal runs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight and goods across various routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism to ensure timely deliveries and excellent service. Candidates should possess a valid commercial driver's license and have experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive repair.
Duties
- Safely operate trucks and freight vehicles to pick up and deliver goods according to schedule
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle records, and documentation in accordance with company policies
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle functionality
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery status or issues
Skills
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating freight trucks and heavy equipment such as forklifts
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on trucks
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations for commercial driving
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
- Physical ability to load/unload freight, operate heavy equipment, and perform vehicle inspections
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
