We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and detail-oriented Veterinary assistant/ animal care attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical care to animals, provide excellent client communication, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care
  • Assist veterinarians in examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology, etc.).
  • Provide nursing care, including wound care, catheter placement, and fluid therapy.
  • Technical Skills
  • Perform diagnostic imaging (radiographs, ultrasounds under supervision).
  • Prepare and maintain surgical equipment.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment logs.
  • Hospital Support
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, kennels, and equipment.
  • Assist in inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic setting strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to animal welfare.

Work Environment

  • Full-time and part-time positions available.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Exposure to animals of various temperaments and medical conditions.
  • Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
