$45–$50/hr Incorporated | $38–$41/hr T4 Term

A major Canadian shipbuilding organization—responsible for delivering new-build science vessels, non-combat naval vessels, and large, complex marine programs—is looking to add a

Structural Engineer (Engineer II)
to their Structural Engineering Team.

This group supports multi-year federal programs involving Polar vessels and maritime patrol ships, with modern facilities, a large multidisciplinary engineering team, and long-term project stability.

What You'll Be Working On

As a Structural Engineer (Engineer II), you'll support structural design packages across concept, basic, functional, and production phases. You'll work closely with engineering teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and classification societies to resolve structural design issues and support the build of next-generation vessels.

You will be involved in:

  • Structural design for new-build vessels and major marine programs
  • Providing technical support across the full project lifecycle
  • Reviewing and resolving production issues (interferences, deviations, substitutions)
  • Structural calculations, foundations, and hull design work
  • FEA/local strength analysis (Femap, Abaqus, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Ensuring compliance with Class Rules (LR, DNV, ABS, etc.) and IMO/ISO standards
  • Reviewing and inspecting 3D models using AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, Cadmatic, Navisworks
  • Preparing technical specifications, reports, and procedures

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in
    Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
    , or related
  • EIT
    designation with a recognized engineering association
  • 2+ years
    of experience in structural or mechanical design (marine/shipyard preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Classification Rules, SOLAS/IMO, and structural regulations
  • Experience with structural calculations (static/dynamic loads)
  • Proficiency with
    AutoCAD, Femap, ShipConstructor, Navisworks, SolidWorks
    , or similar
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment

    Reliability and Controlled Goods Security Clearance
