Island Abbey Nutritionals provides full contract manufacturing, bottling, and packaging services for white-label production from concept to launch.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Controller to manage and optimize inventory levels in our food manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate tracking of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, while maintaining compliance with food safety standards and minimizing waste.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances.
  • Track inventory KPIs such as stock turnover, shrinkage, and expiry.
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of perishable goods (FIFO/FEFO).
  • Support audits and compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, SQF, BRC).
  • Generate inventory reports and provide insights for forecasting and planning.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Proficiency in inventory software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment.
