To be eligible to apply for a summer student position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada as a student.
- In possession of a Social Insurance Number (card) at time of hire.
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis and returning to school in the fall of 2026.
Job Summary
This role supports the Small Business Centre team by assisting with entrepreneurship programs and client servicing.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of youth-focused and general entrepreneurship and cycling tourism programs.
- Assist the public and maintain business information, literature and other resources available to the public in the Resource area for clients.
- Prepare content for marketing material, newsletters, social media and other outreach initiatives.
- Develop new website content and PowerPoint presentations for external audiences.
- Conduct basic market research.
- Perform data collection, entry and analysis as required.
- Participate in the division's social media outreach program.
- Participate in the planning and execution of various division seminars and events which may include business networking events, familiarization tours and tourism events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential
Skills & Qualifications
- Enrolled in a University or College Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Economics, Planning or related program.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Excellent research and analysis skills, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred
- Working knowledge of social media channels, event management, web publishing and customer relationship management tools.

- Occasional travel may be required, incumbent must provide their own transportation.
