Taylor Dawson Designs is a boutique interior design studio known for timeless, curated, and highly personalized interiors. We manage projects from concept to completion—down to the last styled shelf—and work closely with clients, vendors, and trade professionals to deliver beautiful, functional spaces that feel like home.

We're currently seeking a hands-on Interior Designer / Administrative Assistant who is just as comfortable in front of a client presentation as they are on a job site with electricians and plumbers. This hybrid role requires someone organized, design-savvy, and proactive, with a strong understanding of how construction and design come together in real time.

Key Responsibilities

Interior Design Support

  • Assist with concept development, mood boards, sourcing, and material selections
  • Prepare and organize client presentations and design packages
  • Create floor plans, furniture layouts, and design boards
  • Order samples, manage procurement, and track deliveries
  • Attend site visits and installations to ensure design intent is executed correctly

Project Management & Job Site Coordination

  • Regularly visit construction sites to check progress and troubleshoot issues
  • Communicate directly with contractors, electricians, plumbers, and other trades
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination of site work and installations
  • Ensure job site notes, measurements, and updates are documented accurately
  • Represent Taylor Dawson Designs professionally during site meetings and walkthroughs

Administrative & Office Support

  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, and timelines
  • Organize vendor quotes, purchase orders, and invoices
  • Respond to client emails and coordinate meetings
  • Maintain digital and physical materials libraries
  • Keep the studio organized and projects on track

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in interior design, project coordination, or related role
  • Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools
  • Strong communication skills—confident working with contractors and clients alike
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to problem-solve on-site and adapt quickly
  • Comfortable lifting samples, unpacking boxes, and assisting with styling/install days
  • Must have reliable transportation to visit job sites

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Knowledge of residential construction processes and terminology
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Studio Designer, Ivy, Asana)
  • Experience managing design installations and furniture deliveries
  • Interest or experience in styling, photography, or marketing a plus
