As a result of our continued growth we are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with mechanical systems design experience for multi-unit residential, commercial and institutional buildings. The ideal candidate is a strong self-starter, who is excited by day-to-day engineering design and sustainable building construction. For the right individual, this may become a partnership opportunity.
Essential Duties
- HVAC Systems Design: hot water heating/cooling systems, forced air heating/cooling systems, industrial/commercial ventilation, ground source heat pump systems, building systems automation, solar energy water heating systems design, etc.
- Plumbing Systems Design: domestic hot and cold water piping, sanitary and vent piping, etc.
- Fire Protection Systems: sprinklers, fire standpipe, fire extinguishers, dry chemical, wet chemical, etc.
- Sustainable Systems Design: Focus on eco-friendly solutions that align with modern sustainability goals.
- Contract Administration: Manage contracts to ensure smooth project execution.
- Team Coordination: Work closely with clients, local utilities, inspection authorities, structural engineers, and architects.
- Project Management: Assign and review work for junior design engineering staff, oversee projects to ensure alignment with client needs.
What You'll Need:
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code, NFPA, ASHRAE, standards and ordinances pertaining to building design
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A collaborative team player who values coordination and communication.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2024 and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Revit is an asset but not required.
- Experience leading teams, managing projects, and inspiring greatness.
- Excellent communicator with a knack for building strong relationships (clients and coworkers alike).
- Life's better when you can laugh, a good sense of humor is certainly an asset.
Education & Experience
- A degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a practicing engineer.
- Licensed P. Eng. registered in the province of Ontario.
