Sync Robotics is expanding its talented team and is currently seeking an Electrical Apprentice or Technician to join their dynamic organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your electrical and automation skills while working on industry-leading projects in robotics, motion control, and advanced manufacturing systems.

In this role, you will work alongside a team of experienced engineers and technologists to assist in the design, build, and integration of electrical control systems for automated machinery and industrial robotics. You will gain valuable hands-on experience in panel building, wiring, troubleshooting, and field commissioning, while learning about PLCs, VFDs, safety systems, and robotics integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical control panels for automation and robotic systems;
  • Install, connect, and label components such as circuit breakers, relays, sensors, motors, and variable frequency drives;
  • Assist with wiring and integration of control systems on robotic cells, conveyors, and automated machinery;
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts;
  • Perform quality checks to ensure all work meets electrical codes, company standards, and project specifications;
  • Support electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and field service activities under supervision;
  • Collaborate closely with the electrical design and controls teams during system testing and commissioning;
  • Accurately record work hours, materials, and project progress within the company's ERP system; and
  • Perform other related duties as required by the supervisor or project leads.

Requirements

  • Electrical Apprentice (1st–4th year) or Electrical Technician / Technologist Diploma;
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in electrical or controls-related work (industrial environment preferred);
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and practices (CSA, NEC, or equivalent);
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and layout drawings;
  • Familiarity with industrial components such as PLCs, sensors, contactors, relays, and VFDs;
  • Experience in panel wiring, troubleshooting, and equipment installation is considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of or exposure to industrial automation, robotics, or motion control systems is preferred;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team;
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and eager to learn and advance within the field of industrial automation;
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local and provincial client site visits.
