The Journeyperson Plumber will work on diverse projects requiring technical expertise, physical strength, and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality results efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with blueprints and schematics
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques safely and effectively
- Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent future issues
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper installation of plumbing components within building frameworks
- Troubleshoot complex plumbing problems using technical knowledge of HVAC, schematics, and system layouts
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Document work performed and report progress or issues to project managers
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with a strong understanding of HVAC systems and general maintenance practices
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and construction materials
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during installation or repair tasks
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fitting and system design
- Knowledge of schematics for troubleshooting complex system issues
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical instructions accurately
