Montréal QC HT A, Canada Mechasys Full time $45,000 - $60,000 per year

At Mechasys, we're revolutionizing the construction industry with our XR Projector technology, a system that projects building plans directly onto construction surfaces with millimetre precision. Our technology merges robotics, optics, and laser alignment to bring the digital blueprint to life in real space.

We're a fast-growing, Series A deep-tech startup based in Montréal, backed by leading investors and powered by a passionate team of innovators & engineers with an aim to revolutionise the construction technology industry.

The Role

We are looking for a Calibration Technician to help ensure that each Mechasys XR Projector is perfectly aligned and ready for deployment on-site. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role where precision matters. You'll work closely with our production and engineering teams to calibrate and test laser projection accuracy across hundreds of target points for each unit.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys technical, methodical, and repetitive work, someone who takes pride in accuracy and consistency.

What You'll Do

  • Calibrate our XR Projector units by aligning laser projection points with extreme precision
  • Work through many target positions per unit following calibration protocols
  • Use command-line tools (basic terminal/command prompt) to run calibration scripts and record data
  • Follow detailed technical instructions to ensure repeatable and reliable results
  • Flag, report and debug through a set process any alignment issues, hardware inconsistencies, or software irregularities
  • Collaborate with production engineers to continuously improve calibration efficiency and accuracy

Who You Are

  • Comfortable with repetitive, precision-based technical work
  • Basic computer literacy, especially with command prompt or terminal environments
  • Exposure to Bash or Python is a plus (but not required)
  • Detail-oriented, patient, and consistent in your work
  • Reliable and punctual, someone who enjoys a routine and takes pride in doing things right
  • You don't need a university degree, a technical diploma, trade certification, or equivalent hands-on experience is enough
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing fluently in both French and English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with optical alignment, electronics assembly, or laser systems
  • Basic familiarity with manufacturing or testing environments
  • Comfort using digital documentation and reporting tools.
