Job Description

Under the direction/supervision of the clinical team, you will perform direct patient services tasks.

Accountabilities:

  • Assisting with patient turns
  • Mobilization and transport
  • Ordering supplies
  • Daily restocking of supplies in patient care rooms and supply storage areas
  • Maintain and distribute departmental monitoring equipment
  • Transporting patient specimens to the pneumatic tube
  • Contributing to the maintenance of a safe work environment
Qualifications
  • Registered with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA)
  • Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized college
  • Basic Knowledge of aseptic techniques
  • Current CPR
  • Minimum of two to three years recent experience with inpatient medicine and specialized geriatric patient population required
  • Ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and has demonstrated teamwork abilities
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to meet unit needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly stressful and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in acute care medicine and seniors
  • Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Meditech system
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension)
  • Able to handle physical requirements of the job (ability to lift at least 25-30 pounds)
Additional Information

Weekdays/weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements), working across sites.

Salary:
Minimum: $30.76
Maximum: $31.38
