About Your Role

We are looking for passionate and skilled software engineers to join the Calico Cloud and AI team in our mission to secure the next generation of cloud-native applications. At the heart of our strategy is a set of open-source networking and security projects that define the new gold standard for application connectivity within large-scale cloud environments, such as Kubernetes, Docker, and related technologies. Building upon this open-source foundation, we are working on complementary commercial offerings as SaaS to help enterprises build and operate cloud-native applications and infrastructures, securely and at scale. 

We are looking for a versatile Senior Software Engineer to help evolve our core SaaS platform and also turbocharge our move into autonomous AI agents. You will be joining a team that is highly engineering-focused with a culture that values diversity, collaboration, agility, and innovation, keeping us one step ahead in the exciting and fast moving cloud-native and AI technology space.

This role is hybrid based in Vancouver

Salary range: CA$125,000 to CA$150,000

You Will

  • Be an active member of an engineering team working on tasks as part of release sprints
  • Enhance and build new functionality in Golang
  • Take responsibility (along with the team) for the entire development process of the features you are working on, including design, coding, testing, and releasing to production

You Have

  • 6-8 years of product-oriented software engineering experience
  • Experience with distributed systems development
  • Hands-on experience with backend development languages like Golang (preferred), C, C++, Java, Kotlin, Python, etc.
  • A drive to get things done in a highly collaborative, agile development environment
  • A BS in CS or related/similar degree (equivalent experience may suffice)

Nice-to-Have

  • LLM Orchestration: Experience building and deploying autonomous agentic workflows using frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, or similar to automate complex, multi-step processes.
  • Tool Integration & RAG:  Designed tool interfaces and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines that allow AI agents to securely interact with internal APIs, databases, and third-party systems.
  • Production Reliability: Implement evaluation frameworks and observability layers to monitor, unit-test, and refine non-deterministic AI outputs, ensuring production-grade reliability and safety.
  • Experience applying AI/ML to observability, automated troubleshooting, or security.
  • Strong understanding of unsupervised ML and deep learning models and algorithms such Autoencoders used for anomaly detection.
  • Past experience with using storage technologies such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or PostgreSQL
  • Any experience with prometheus and grafana.
  • Experience with one or more of the following areas and technologies: Kubernetes, Docker/containers, Networking.
