Our dynamic environment, filled with high-achieving professionals, enables our staff to take on incredible opportunities, gain mentorship from a diverse group of colleagues, and succeed in their careers.

This role acts as the vital link between engineering design and field execution, ensuring construction and commissioning activities meet required engineering standards, codes, and specifications. The successful candidate will work closely with contractors and project teams to resolve issues promptly and keep projects moving forward safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Site Engineering Support & Technical Oversight
  • Provide engineering guidance to construction and commissioning teams to ensure compliance with design intent and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate resolution of site engineering issues, engaging with design engineers or technical teams as required.
  • Gather and verify site information to support engineering design and ensure designs accurately reflect field conditions.
  • Review construction packages, drawings, and specifications upon arrival on site; address discrepancies before they impact execution.
  • Lead or participate in constructability reviews.
Quality Assurance & Documentation
  • Monitor quality of work performed by contractors and vendors to ensure adherence to specifications, tolerances, and material requirements.
  • Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs); ensure contractors meet required hold points and inspection milestones.
  • Review dispositions for proposed changes, non-conformances, and other construction-related technical matters.
  • Track and report construction re-work and non-conformance items.
  • Validate technical completion of documents before turnover, confirming compliance with design intent.
  • Ensure drawings and documentation are updated with all approved field changes and red-line markups.
Field Coordination & Communication
  • Ensure Requests for Information (RFIs) are resolved efficiently (target 24–48 hours or provide progress updates for complex issues).
  • Support project teams with preparation and updates to construction and procurement packages.
  • Provide clear design clarifications to contractors and oversee field changes.
  • Coordinate construction turnover activities in alignment with commissioning requirements.
Inspection & Compliance
  • Conduct periodic engineering inspections of facilities under construction and/or coordinate inspections with design engineers.
  • Monitor contractor quality control programs and report deficiencies.
  • Verify through daily inspections and test result reviews that contractors maintain proper documentation and record-keeping practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) is preferred, particularly with PEO.
Experience
  • 8–12 years of engineering experience in industrial, mining, construction, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Proven experience in field engineering, construction support, and quality assurance.
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong technical problem-solving ability.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with site teams, contractors, and engineering groups.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and compliance.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and QA/QC documentation.
Additional Information

  • Pre-access requirements prior to start include:

  • Background check and submission of required security forms.

  • Pre-access substance testing.
  • WHMIS certification.
Benefits
  • Health & Dental Benefits.
