Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment, fostering student development, and delivering engaging lessons across various subjects. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' lives while working in a collaborative and supportive school community. Bilingual skills, particularly in English and French, are highly valued to support our diverse student body. The position requires excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills to ensure each student's academic and social growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in subjects such as Math, English, and early childhood education.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports students with disabilities or special education needs.
  • Use effective teaching strategies to engage students and accommodate different learning styles.
  • Assess student progress regularly through tests, assignments, and observations; provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Incorporate technology tools such as Microsoft Office and other computer applications to enhance learning experiences.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues through clear communication and collaboration.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Support tutoring sessions or after-school programs as needed to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other student information using organizational skills.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and training sessions focused on early childhood education, working with children with disabilities, or other relevant topics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; teaching certification preferred.
  • Proven experience working with children in a classroom setting; experience with special education or working with students with disabilities is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable; strong communication skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and basic computer skills for lesson planning and record keeping.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent writing skills for lesson plans, reports, and communication with parents and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Experience in tutoring or providing additional academic support is advantageous.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $47,427.73-$71,510.78 per year
