What the Role Is

We're looking for a Digital
Videographer & Editor
to bring Bushbalm's brand and educational content to life. You'll work closely with our Design Manager and creative team to plan, shoot, and edit engaging videos that range from professional education used across marketing channels to social media ads.

You'll be hands-on from concept through post-production — producing high-quality visuals that elevate our brand and resonate with our audiences (both consumers and Estheticians).

Key Responsibilities

  • Shoot and edit high-quality video content across multiple formats — including educational videos for pros, branded storytelling, behind-the-scenes moments, and weekly ad content.
  • Edit and repurpose existing video content into fresh, engaging cuts for campaigns, ads, and education.
  • Plan, direct, and produce shoots independently — from pre-production to final delivery.
  • Collaborate with creatives, designers, and marketers to bring ideas to life.
  • Develop narrative-led videos with strong storytelling and a clear brand voice.
  • Confidently film both in-studio and on-location with strong lighting, sound, and composition skills.
  • Contribute to pre-production logistics — scheduling, equipment prep, location planning, and shot lists.
  • Repurpose and edit existing footage into fresh, engaging cuts for campaigns and social.
  • Maintain consistent organization across projects, file management, and post-production workflows.
  • Stay on top of emerging content trends, formats, and tools to keep Bushbalm's video content fresh and relevant.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a videographer, content creator, or similar role — ideally within beauty, lifestyle, or education.
  • Strong camera operation skills (experience with Sony systems is a plus).
  • Advanced editing abilities in Adobe Premiere Pro (knowledge of After Effects is a plus).
  • Proven ability to manage lighting setups, framing, and location sound.
  • Strong storytelling instincts — able to identify, capture, and communicate compelling narratives.
  • Comfortable working independently and in a team setting with quick turnarounds.
  • Confident filming educational content that involves intimate areas
    — such as live waxing demos — with professionalism, sensitivity, and adherence to on-set privacy standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail across multiple projects.
  • Great interpersonal skills — collaborative, calm under pressure, and solution-oriented.
  • Must live in Ottawa (or nearby) and be available for local shoots.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexible hours when shoots require.
