Veterinary Receptionist Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist who will join our pet care team. You will work at the front desk greeting, welcoming, and checking in the clients with their pets. Your other duties and tasks include answering the phone and emails, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and maintaining and updating patients' records. You will also monitor the availability of items for sale, and answer customers' questions and concerns.

Our preferable Veterinary Receptionist should have amazing client service and communication skills. While communicating with clients, answering their questions, and assisting them with their medication and supply purchase. An exceptional Veterinary Receptionist should also be understanding, well-organized, and a team player.

Veterinary Receptionist Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome clients and their pets into the vet clinic or hospital
  • Check in the clients and their pets
  • Maintain and update patients' charts and records
  • Answer phone calls and emails
  • Schedule appointments and surgical procedures
  • Receive and process payments
  • Issue invoices for services
  • Go over medications and explain their use if needed
  • Monitor the availability of items and supplies for sale
  • Answer the clients questions and concerns
  • Assist with purchase of pet food, supplements, and grooming equipment
  • Ensure that clients and their pets are seated comfortably in the waiting room
  • Maintain the waiting room and front desk area clean and organized

Veterinary Receptionist Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist or similar role
  • Compassion and understanding
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Organizational skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $18.85 per hour
