The JoooKooo Sports Academy provides students with opportunities to be physically active while increasing social awareness and drive to attain their maximum potential. The JoooKooo Sports Academy will provide safe, inclusive and fair sports programming, primarily focused on basketball.
Job description
The Summer Camp Counsellor / Sports Coach is responsible for designing, managing and delivering training to participants to provide a safe and high quality experience for students by leading them in various sports (e.g. basketball, soccer, etc.) and other activities.
The Coach is responsible for working together with camp leaders to provide participants with an opportunity to learn through a series of progressive drills to teach essential to advanced skills that provide the best opportunity for students to have fun and learn.
The successful candidate will be expected to be punctual, energetic and demonstrate positive energy to provide participants with the best experience at all times during the summer program, which will start at the end of June and end in August.
The Coach is responsible for managing and maintaining their training area and monitoring/reporting on the development of students throughout the camp.
The Coach will be responsible for communicating with parents/guardians caregivers as appropriate and ensuring the safety, enjoyment and care of registered participants in JoooKoooo Sports Academy's programs.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain leadership experience.
The Coach will also be responsible for executing other activities that are assigned by JoooKooo Sports Academy.
The successful candidate must be a Canadian citizen between the ages of 15 – 29 who lives within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and can travel to our location in the Durham Region (Ajax and/or Bowmanville).
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: $17.60-$18.60 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
