Overview

We are seeking an experienced
Applications Architect (Intermediate)
to support the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale solutions. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in structured methodologies, architecture documentation, and technical design, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as an Applications Architect or in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with structured methodologies for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of applications.
• Experience with enterprise-level architecture standards and artifacts (e.g., Business Architecture Documents, Solution Architecture Documents, Solution Requirements Documents, and Information Architecture Documents).
• Experience using technical solution design and prototyping tools to support JAD sessions and design discussions with stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
• Experience designing and managing large-scale data migration operations.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Strong background in IT architecture, enterprise architecture frameworks, and methodologies across domains such as Business, Technology, Application, and/or Security.
• Experience planning, designing, and implementing architecture solutions for large-scale, complex, multi-year IT projects.
• Experience creating detailed business analysis and solution design documents.
• Knowledge of systems supporting case management or similar enterprise applications.
• Strong business analysis and solution design experience within large IT environments.
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a track record of teamwork and meeting deadlines.

Evaluation Criteria

1. Technical Experience / Skills (40 Points)

• Proven experience in technical and functional design for Cloud and SaaS applications.
• Experience leading technical teams to ensure solution design alignment across project phases.
• Experience designing internal and public-facing web portals with multi-platform integration, multi-factor authentication, and payment gateway integration.
• Knowledge of responsive web technologies (CSS/HTML5, jQuery, JSF, Angular), frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, Struts), web services (SOAP), databases (SQL, PL/SQL), middleware (ESB, IBM DataPower), and cloud models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
• Familiarity with best practices in software and systems engineering, architecture design, and SDLC methodologies.
• Understanding of enterprise IT strategy, business process modeling, data modeling, and process re-engineering.

2. Architecture Knowledge / Experience (30 Points)

• Experience developing business, solution, and information architectures using modeling tools such as PowerDesigner or Enterprise Architect.
• Proven ability to produce architecture artifacts for enterprise-level checkpoints (e.g., BAD, SAD, SRD, IAD).
• Experience planning and coordinating complex architecture solutions for systems supporting internal and external clients.
• Understanding of privacy and security assessment processes and ability to ensure compliance through architecture documentation and traceability.

3. Data Migration and Integration (25 Points)

• Experience managing large-scale data migration from legacy systems to modern or SaaS platforms.
• Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, and integration between internal systems and third-party applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills for complex integration and technical challenges.
• Ability to research and recommend innovative systems architecture and integration strategies.

4. Public Sector or Large-Scale Organization Experience (5 Points)

• Experience working within large, complex organizations or public sector environments.
