Overview:
The HR Generalist manages a wide range of day-to-day human resources activities, acting as a central point of contact for employees and managers. This role translates business goals into operational reality by providing HR support services to both office and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Facilitate the hiring process from sourcing candidates to onboarding new employees and managing exits.
- Employee Relations: Resolve workplace issues, mediate conflicts, and maintain a healthy work environment.
- Compensation and Benefits: Administer employee benefits, including RSPs, health insurance, and vacation time; assist with payroll.
- Compliance and Policy: Ensure adherence to labour laws, collective union agreements, and regulations; communicate policies to employees; work towards improving policies and procedures.
- Training and Development: Implement and coordinate training programs and performance management systems (employee reviews) to support employee growth and company goals.
- Record Keeping: Maintain and update employee records, files, and other essential HR documentation.
- Improve Work Culture: Make Felton Brushes the best place to work in Hamilton by developing and facilitating high-performance teams with a connected work culture; organize social events to promote team building; and promoting and instilling Core Values within teams.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree; Human Resources Management, Business or a related area of study.
- 2+ years of experience in human resources management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong skills in performance evaluations, conflict resolution, negotiation, and employee motivation.
- Knowledge of HR policies and best practices.
