Job description

The Actuarial Assistant role is crucial in achieving this
exceptional client service. This position is responsible for managing pension-related correspondence between clients and advisors, maintaining accuracy of client files, and supporting the need of the Actuarial department for a seamless experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist Clients/Advisors in their Pension communications
  • Answering incoming call, emails, and tickets
  • Maintain up-to-date database information as well as the member's file data
  • Uploading electronic copies of all CRA filings into our database
  • Assisting clients/advisors with administration questions regarding Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Pension Plans (Contributions, Pension Adjustment Calculations, ect)
  • Assisting Actuaries with data collection, filings, mailings, data prework, ongoing projects, ect
  • Support the Actuarial department with completing annual compliance reports (AIRs, T3Ps, contribution statements, ect)

Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related fields is a strong asset
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and critical thinking skills
  • Able to organize themselves by balancing daily priorities and ongoing project deadlines
  • 1 year minimum of office administration experience – preferably in the life and pension industry
  • Comfortable taking phone calls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
