Role and Objectives:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our growing team. Kalesnikoff is an innovative wood manufacturing company, and this role plays a key part in supporting our sawmill operations. Reporting to the Mobile Equipment Manager, the Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial mobile equipment and fleet vehicles, working closely with operators to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and diagnose industrial mobile equipment, including wheel loaders, track machines, forklifts, etc.
Troubleshoot and diagnose company fleet vehicles and perform small engine repair.
Maintain heating and cooling systems on all equipment.
Work closely with operators to troubleshoot various issues and achieve the best possible results.
Participate in preventative maintenance program and help create programs for new equipment as built.
Repair equipment in a timely manner.
Interpret technical manuals and drawings.
Complete detailed work orders/commissioning documentation.
Maintain all mobile equipment on site.
Working Conditions:
Overtime as required.
Occasional exposure to dust, noise, and fumes when visiting various sites.
Exposure to industrial noise, moving equipment, and overlapping work-zones.
Exposure to safety lockouts and access to equipment.
Frequent finger dexterity, as well as body agility and balance
Requires frequent stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
Occasional climbing and carrying
Provide your own tools for the job.
Requirements:
Five (5) years in heavy duty mechanical role(s).
Red Seal certification.
Experience:
Experience with mobile equipment, aerial platforms, and forklifts.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong troubleshooting background.
Proficient working with computers.
Excellent communication skills.
Welding and fabrication experience.
Self-starter with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation Package:
Wage: $36.05 – 48.41 per hour (Red Seal Certification is required to receive top wage rate)
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, Days and Afternoons. Rotation occurs every two (2) weeks.
Days: 6:00am – 4:00pm
Afternoons: 3:00pm – 1:00am
