Responsibilities:

· Participates with other members of the management team in achieving departmental goals and objectives;

· Participate in various committees;

· Responsible for: hiring, training, orientation, scheduling, disciplining, investigating, reporting and recording of injuries or incidents of the food service and housekeeping departments;

· Responsible for supply ordering and inventory control for the dietary, housekeeping department;

· Ensures adherence to quality assurance, risk management, occupational health and safety act and sanitation code;

· Performs food and safety audits to track key performance indicators;

· Develops four (4) week cycle menu twice per year and adjusts as needed;

· Assures the residents basic daily food requirements are met through Canada's Food Guide and the "Best practice guidelines by OSNAC, FNAT";

· Ensures quality and timely delivery of nutritional services to residents;

· Administer the dietary, housekeeping and laundry services within the stablished standards, policies and procedures;

· Maintain good working relationships with other services providers within the nursing home, residents, families and the community;

Review and approve payroll documents

Qualifications:

· Community college certificate or equivalent in related field. Recognized courses in administration and /or health care experience.

· Minimum two years' experience in management.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills;

· High degree of leadership, supervisory and administrative ability;

· Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software including word processing and email;

· Thorough understanding of Unions and the Collective Agreement;

· Sound knowledge of institutional food service supervision, sanitation, and safety.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $28.34-$32.60 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week
