About the Role

We're looking for an Accounting Assistant who brings both precision and passion. This role keeps our financial systems running smoothly, managing accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and reporting.

This position will be based in-office at our new Cochrane/West Calgary location (opening soon). Until the office is ready, the role will start remotely with regular in-person collaboration.

What You'll Do

  • Accounts Payable: Review, code, and process invoices; prepare payments; and maintain accurate vendor records.
  • Accounts Receivable: Post daily receipts, issue invoices, manage statements, and follow up on overdue accounts with professionalism.
  • Reconciliations: Complete credit card, intercompany, prepaid, fixed asset, and accrual reconciliations.
  • Commission & Royalties: Prepare monthly sales commission reports and quarterly royalty payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Month-End Support: Journal entries, reporting, and tax prep support.
  • Cost Tracking & Support: Provide visibility to teams on budgets and spend, ensuring accountability across the business.
  • Expense Management: Review and code invoices, credit card charges, and expense reports accurately across cost centers.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years' experience in AP/AR, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
  • ERP exposure (e.g., JDE, Qlik) and advanced Excel is a plus.
  • Experience with month-end close processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to work independently in a remote-first, high-accountability environment.
  • Extremely comfortable on the phones, making calls to customers, discussion payments.
