About the role

We are seeking an
IT Help Desk Co-op
to join our IT team and support daily technical operations across Matcor Matsu Group. In this role, you will assist with the installation and maintenance of computer systems, provide user support for software applications, troubleshoot hardware and network issues, and help manage IT inventory. You will work closely with IT team members, follow established security protocols, and maintain a professional and customer-focused approach.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for users regarding overall support, policies, and procedures.
  • Assign and escalate issues to the appropriate IT Systems Support Technician.
  • Keep users informed at all times regarding the status of their tickets.
  • Follow up with assigned personnel to ensure timely resolution of problems.
  • Document and maintain solutions in the appropriate support systems.
  • Escalate recurring issues to the IT Support Team Lead after troubleshooting efforts have been exhausted.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work with the Manager, IT Support to implement enhancements to Help Desk operations.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of Windows OS 10 & 11, and Microsoft Office 365.

Related Work Skills

  • Good understanding of LAN, WAN, and SDWAN technologies for company network communication systems.
  • Understanding of web development tools and scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, etc.
  • Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting Microsoft applications (MS Office, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to form effective relationships with users.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and adaptable to change.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
