Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Technical Manager - Water & Wastewater Conveyance to join our team in Great Toronto Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all technical aspects of our water and wastewater projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and manage the technical team in the planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater projects.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex engineering problems related to water and wastewater conveyance systems.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations.
- Develop client engagement strategies and pursuit plans for new water, wastewater, and environmental business in Ontario and across Canada.
- Manage proposal efforts and contribute to proposal preparation, including technical approaches and presentations.
- Coordinate and facilitate approvals from regulating and commenting agencies.
- Ensure continuity of projects through design, tender, and construction phases.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of water and wastewater conveyance systems, infrastructure design, construction, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
- Proven experience with large diameter sanitary/trunk
- Experience with various construction methods including trenchless technologies and micro tunneling
- knowledge of environmental assessment for municipal projects would be an asset
