Grader Operator - Snow Removal

Key Information:

  • Hours: Seasonal/project dependent. Overtime is required during the busy season.
  • Must be willing to working evenings and weekends when needed.
  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience.
  • Health benefits, pension plan, RRSP matching, vacation pay offered.

Job Description:

  • Ability to work safely and always stay alert to surroundings.
  • Experience with other construction equipment considered an asset.
  • Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Assist foremen of any issues or repairs required on assigned equipment.
  • Physical strength, stamina and coordination to complete assigned duties.
  • Ability to withstand working outside on uneven ground for long periods of time and in varying weather conditions.
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with, the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
  • Use of personal protection equipment is required.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol policy, including testing requirements.
  • Maintain positive company image.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience and Certification Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 year's experience as a grader operator.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • A driver's abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.
  • A CSTS 2020 or SCOT, and WHMIS 2015 required.
  • You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions and work positively within a team to achieve a common goal.
  • Proficient English language skills required.
  • Reliable means of transportation required.
  • Time management skills.

Education: Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
