Job Summary

The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) is responsible for providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that supports the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of children in accordance with the BC Child Care Licensing Regulation and ECEBC Code of Ethics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based learning activities
  • Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
  • Support children's emotional, social, language, and physical development
  • Maintain daily routines including meals, rest, and outdoor play
  • Observe, document, and communicate children's progress to parents/guardian
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized childcare environment
  • Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the licensee and other staff
  • Maintain required records and documentation as per licensing standards

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate issued by ECEBC
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector
  • Knowledge of BC Child Care Licensing Regulation
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift, bend, and engage in active play with children

Hourly Wage:

$26 – $28 per hour including WE (based on qualifications and experience)
