Medical Laboratory Technologist

Campbellford Memorial Hospital is looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist for a permanent full-time position. If you have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills and a passion for healthcare, we encourage you to apply

Primary Duties

· Performs investigative procedures through detailed analysis, assay and examination of specimens

· Performs testing within the disciplines of Chemistry; Transfusion Medicine; Haematology; Microbiology; Specimen Collection and Cardiac Testing

· Practices in accordance with the provincial regulations set out by the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO); hospital policy and procedures

· Is knowledgeable of, and follows the quality management processes

· Reports quality issues to technical director and senior MLT responsible for quality management

· Supports and actively participates in quality improvement activities to facilitate change in the workplace

· Assures that critical results are communicated to the appropriate individuals in a timely manner

· Assesses and prioritizes workload

· Other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience

· New grads welcome

· Two years of experience as a Medical Laboratory in a hospital setting preferred

· Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) registration

· Current CMLTO licence

Skills & Abilities

· Possesses and continually acquires knowledge relevant to the profession

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Computer skills, Epic and Microsoft office an asset

· Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast paced environment.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize duties

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with patients, staff and physicians

Pay: $32.60-$48.93 per hour
