About The Role:
We are seeking one (1) experienced Project Manager to join our team in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, supporting the delivery of the 2026 Rural Generation Program focused on diesel generation projects across the province. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience managing utility projects, particularly those involving diesel generation systems and work in remote or isolated communities. This role requires strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with scope, budget, and schedule objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute project scope statements and work plans.
- Set up new project work orders and develop realistic schedules with the project team.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scopes of work.
- Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and promote continual improvement.
- Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Evaluate and manage project change requests, ensuring impacts are clearly communicated.
- Maintain and manage project risk registers and issue logs.
- Identify issues and implement timely interventions or escalate as required.
- Ensure all project commitments and contractual obligations are met.
- Determine project insurance requirements in consultation with the Risk and Insurance team.
- Oversee commissioning activities and ensure safe, efficient project completion.
- Prepare monthly capital reports and accruals.
- Participate in lessons learned sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain regular communication with Operations and End User Clients.
Education and Experience Required
- Experienced Intermediate or Senior Project Manager with utility experience.
- Experience working with diesel generation equipment and within diesel plant environments is required.
- Experience delivering projects in isolated or remote communities is considered an asset.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred; however, equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered.
Please note that you may be required to work in an industrial environment, requiring hands-on field supervision. This may include working at heights, dirty/dusty and noisy environments and confined spaces. All personal protective equipment and site-specific training will be provided.
