Job purpose

Responsible to organize and oversee the manufacturing of goods. You will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all production lines.

Duties and Responsibilities

The associate's primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Oversight of daily processing and packaging department activities on a 12-hour basis.
  • Develop and implement strategy to continuously improve employee performance, plant efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Review and communicate daily production schedule changes to line supervisors.
  • Identify and continuously strive to reduce waste using GMP's.
  • Lead and be a strong advocate of quality control. Utilize visual communication to train and reinforce product specification parameters.
  • Enforce and champion health and safety procedures and policies.
  • Understand and maintain industry-leading food safety standards in accordance with BRC and customer specific standards.
  • Provide encouragement and on-going coaching to team members.
  • Follow up on validation training with line supervisors.
  • Be responsible for production output.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to set and achieve company priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, provincial and local requirements.
  • Promote and encourage the company's mission, vision and culture of training.
  • Collaborate with line supervisors to provide training to new employees.
  • Create training material for packaging and processing department to provide training for new employees.
  • Review, measure, report effectiveness of training through analytical performance of each operator and/or supervisor.
  • Manage the disciplinary action procedure, the performance improvement plan, and the annual Performance Review for the team.
  • Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
  • Approve the vacation requests.
  • Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
  • Serve as a Fire Safety Team Member.
  • Perform other assigned duties and manage waterlogs.
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • S in Business Administration, Engineering or Logistics
  • Conscientious and responsible.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally.
  • Problem Solver with a disposition toward action.
  • Outcome Organized – Works toward known deadlines, ship dates, and schedule.
  • Customer Centered operator.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma training experience.
  • Comfortable with ERP and production planning software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, email communications, and presentations effectively.
