About Us:

Mindful Rehab is a remote-based practice of dedicated, experienced mental health care specialists. We provide evidence-based assessment, counselling and therapy, and psychosocial rehabilitation services for a wide range of concerns and issues, including emotions, chronic pain, trauma. Our team is committed to highly effective care with local in-person meeting options as well as virtual availability across provinces.

We work with various referral partners as well as private individual clients to facilitate personal growth, healthy function, and lasting wellness. We are seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist to join our Alberta team, focusing on mental health services within Calgary and surrounding areas.

Position Overview:

As a Registered Occupational Therapist, you will ensure high-quality service delivery while building a private practice caseload with Mindful Rehab. Compensation is based on a split of the billable service rate, which varies between referral sources.

In addition to helping you develop a private caseload and collaborate with our referral sources, you'll benefit from full-time admin support, clinical consultation support, and secure health systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsive and collaborative in all communication with the Mindful Rehab administrative team and clinical leadership.
  • Consult with individuals seeking private therapy services.
  • Communicate effectively with referral-based stakeholders, including rehabilitation consultants, case managers, and interdisciplinary providers (e.g. psychologists).
  • Conduct assessments for individuals dealing with mental health issues, psychological injuries, and dysfunction.
  • Deliver treatment intervention for identified concerns, priority goals, and referral requests.
  • Maintain a secure computer system with high quality microphone and camera for virtual meetings
  • Maintain flexible availability for in-person requested services, including, office-site meetings, local walking meetings, and travel-based community meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Occupational Therapist in good standing with the relevant provincial regulatory body.
  • Additional training in specialized mental health therapy approaches (detailed below).
  • Experience with mindfulness and mindfulness-based approaches.
  • Strong understanding of the biopsychosocial model and its application in therapeutic treatment for mental health issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with digital practice management systems and Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.

Preferred Experience and Training:

  • Complementary psychotherapy approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
  • Exposure Therapy approaches.
  • Additional training in trauma-informed and trauma-focused care.
  • Experience facilitating gradual return-to-work programs.
  • Experience with insurance, disability, and workers compensation cases.
  • Experience providing counselling and mental health therapy services.
