About the Role
The Health Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) Partner – OVA Prevention is central to building a proactive and resilient safety culture at Scope.
Your focus will be delivering Scope's HSW Plan, with a strong emphasis on Occupational Violence & Aggression (OVA) prevention, ensuring safe environments for both clients and employees.
You'll work closely with operational leaders, frontline staff, and allied health and behaviour support teams to:
- Embed preventative OVA strategies
- Provide coaching and training
- Lead risk assessments
- Drive continuous improvement in safety and wellbeing
Your work will directly strengthen:
- Employee and client wellbeing
- Reduction in the severity and frequency of injuries
- Safety capability and confidence across regions
- A culture focused on reporting, prevention and care

Key Responsibilities
Safety Culture
- Lead OVA prevention strategies across the region.
- Build a strong, proactive HSW culture.
- Monitor, report and influence HSW performance.
Occupational Violence & Aggression (OVA) Prevention
- Work with Operations to design and implement prevention frameworks.
- Coach and train teams in safe work practices aligned with policy and legislation.
- Support incident responses and contribute to behavioural strategies.
- Lead and support OVA risk assessments across regions.
Injury & Claims Management
- Work with the Injury & Claims team to reduce the impact of workplace injuries.
- Support tailored return‑to‑work plans and best‑practice injury management.
Emergency Management & Wellbeing
- Provide OVA expertise in emergency planning.
- Assist in delivering proactive wellbeing initiatives.
Team & Stakeholder Engagement
- Mentor HSW team members and help build capability.
- Build strong relationships with leaders and HSRs to support safety accountability.
What You Bring
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in HSW, disability, allied health or a related field.
- Senior business partnering experience in a complex, unionised environment.
- Practical experience managing OVA risks in human services.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, workers compensation and OVA frameworks.
- Proven ability to coach, influence and build safety capability.
Great to Have
- Return‑to‑Work Coordinator accreditation.
- ICAM investigation training.
- Experience in disability services or the broader Health and Social Assistance sector.
- Experience enhancing safety cultures across multi‑site environments.

- International Police Check (if required)
- Australian working rights
