Landscape Labourer

A small, local contractor seeking reliable assistance with day-to-day business activities in landscape construction, forestry and environmental services. All work is outdoors and physical. Working conditions include biting insects (black flies, mosquitoes, wasps, etc), sun/heat, cold/damp, freezing/thawing, mud, rock, ice, etc. During very inclement weather there may be some down-time.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Labourer, Assistant/Helper assist business owner/equipment operator with day-to-day duties and tasks to create efficiencies, preparation, and clean-up of outdoor projects.

• Provide assistance in a physical outdoor work environment.

• Manual labourious tasks such constructing, finishing and clean up - rake/shovel aggregate/topsoil, plant or water trees/shrubs, pick-up/move debris/wood/rocks, etc.

• Create project efficiencies by organizing/moving materials as/when required.

• Use of light-duty tools such as a ladder, drill, backpack blower, water pump, etc.

• Provide ground support (measuring, signaling/directing, monitoring, etc) and communicate with equipment operator to improve project efficiency.

• Maintain equipment (daily greasing, fueling, cleaning, etc)

• Willing to train/evolve the right person into a higher position and compensation.

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal

Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $20.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
