Roadways Labourer

The Roadways Labourer position is responsible for providing general labour, day-to-day construction and maintenance on municipal roads and sidewalks. This role performs manual duties while utilizing hand and small power tools and is assigned tasks to complete each day. The Roadways Labourer operates light vehicles, patching/paving equipment, and participates in a team environment while ensuring safety procedures are adhered to.

This position participates in an on-call after-hours emergency response schedule, overtime as required. Willing to attain Class 3A license

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or G.E.D. or equivalent.
• Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's license.
• Demonstrated a combination of experience and training to perform the work required by the City
• Knowledge and experience with repair and maintenance procedures for roads and sidewalks are an asset.
• Previous experience with roadway operations, or construction, or municipal services is preferred
• Knowledge of cement work, ditch work, shoveling, and working with roadway-specific tools are assets
• Provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check upon hire.
