POSITION:
SUPPLY LINC/ESL INSTRUCTOR
CLB LEVELS:
Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels 1 – 6, Literacy
HOURS OF WORK:
Varied, dependent upon system's operational needs (8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.)

RATE OF PAY
: $45.92 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay

Duties And Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom instruction to LINC/ESL students both in-person and virtually from assigned locations in Whitby and Ajax.
- Follow lesson plans and/or prepare lesson plans according to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels and student needs.
- Implementation of CLB related activities and competencies.
- Complete required reports and student attendance.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree.
- Teachers of English as a Second Language (TESL) Ontario certification (OCELT) membership in good standing.
- Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) training and experience.
- CLB bootcamp certificate.
- Experience using History of Assessment, Referral, and Training Systems (HARTs) for recording course data, learner data, and attendance.
- Thorough understanding of Canadian Language Benchmarks.
- Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written.
- Ability to maintain records, artifacts, and other supporting documents as required.
- Proficient computer skills and experience integrating technology into the classroom.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and Avenue platforms.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
