Narvar is growing We are hiring a strong and motivated Engineering Manager who will partner with our product team to develop experiences for our clients and their end consumers. 

We are looking for people who will play a meaningful role in amplifying the value of our platform by assuring the seamless development and deployment of our product. You will lead complex technical projects, grow and mentor a high-performing team, and be an integral part of the hiring process.

Day-to-day

  • Design and build highly scalable, extensible, distributed systems through incremental delivery, aligned to a longer-term vision 
  • Set a high technical bar, driving continuous improvement of software design, coding and quality practices 
  • Lead the planning of new initiatives including translating requirements into work streams, and assessing and communicating delivery milestones. 
  • Plan day-to-day activities for the team, working with stakeholders and team members, to balance feature delivery and operational health 
  • Inform the technical roadmap to address technical debt and improve scalability/extensibility
  • Improve operational observability and effectiveness of system monitoring, reporting and alarming
  • Guide the team's continuous improvement of the planning and execution processes
  • Mentor and grow your teammates 

What we're looking for?

  • 12+ years of experience as a professional software engineer building, scaling and extending SaaS products 
  • 3+ years managing technical architecture & design and leading initiatives from inception to delivery 
  • Previous startup experience strongly preferred 
  • You have hands-on experience in several general purpose languages 
  • Extensive experience designing, building, and integrating with RESTful APIs 
  • Experience with building and scaling relational and NoSQL database platforms (such as MySQL, Postgres, Cassandra, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticache) 
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms like Amazon AWS or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience building high volume, high performance, and highly available products
  • Experience leading Agile teams with a focus on incremental delivery and improvement
  • Strong willingness and desire to both learn and mentor

The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across the US. Within the range, individual compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, skill set, education and certifications, and work location. 

Narvar Pay Range

$180,000 - $230,000 CAD
