Enbridge is seeking a skilled Electrical Drafting Technologist to join our team, supporting the engineering and operations departments by creating and maintaining precise technical drawings for electrical systems across our pipeline and facility assets. What You Will Do:

  • Modify drawings in response to internal drafting requests, drawing management system comments, and quality reporting, while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Review as-built drawings and incorporate field redlines, project updates, site photos, and enhancement requests to ensure accuracy and conformance with company standards (DS-001, DS-002, DS-003).

  • Collaborate with project teams, operations, engineering service providers, and drafting service providers to resolve drawing issues and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Conduct site visits to verify drawing accuracy and provide high-level training to non-technical stakeholders on departmental procedures and systems, as needed.

  • Communicate technical facts and business implications clearly, both verbally and in writing, and stay current with industry techniques and developments to continually improve skills.

Who You Are:

  • Associate's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical drafting or design with a large oil and gas operator or engineering service provider.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting software.

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and symbols.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Strong communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with project teams, operational staff, and other technical experts.

  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work well with engineering drawing users and editors.

Preferred:

  • Experience with BIM modeling and coordination

  • Knowledge of PLCs, control systems, and instrumentation

  • Knowledge of physical electrical equipment operations and maintenance

  • Familiarity with relevant electrical codes such as NEC and IEC

Working Conditions:

  • Full time office environment with extensive computer use associated with database environment

  • Less than 10% travel to operating locations and construction sites, as required

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
