Produce Clerk

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Produce Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality and presentation of our produce section while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for fresh produce. Responsibilities

• Assist customers with inquiries regarding produce items and provide recommendations based on their needs.
• Maintain the freshness and quality of all produce by regularly checking for spoilage and removing any damaged items.
• Organize and restock produce displays to ensure an appealing presentation that encourages sales.
• Operate forklifts safely to transport stock as needed, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Perform cleaning duties in the produce department to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Handle cashier duties as required, processing transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure effective merchandising strategies are implemented.
• Support maintenance tasks within the department to keep equipment and displays in optimal condition.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
• Familiarity with produce handling and merchandising techniques is a plus.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as communication with diverse customers is valued.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with customers and team members professionally.
• Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is a plus but not required (training may be provided).
