About the Role:
We are seeking a Purchaser – MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring that our facilities are equipped with the necessary materials, tools, and supplies to operate efficiently. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, proactive, and skilled in supplier management, with a strong understanding of industrial equipment and food industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase MRO materials, tools, supplies, equipment, and spare parts in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking
- Create and manage purchase orders in the SAP/SAGE system
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
- Resolve discrepancies related to invoices, deliveries, and product quality
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Evaluate supplier performance (quality, delivery time, cost)
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards
- Track and manage budgets for MRO spending
- Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams
Strategic Tasks
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers
- Standardize parts and materials to reduce complexity and cost
- Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives
- Analyze consumption trends and forecast future needs
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- 1 + year experience and knowledge of MRO parts, tools, and industrial equipment
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, SQF, BRC, CIA/FDA)
- Problem-solving and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Good analytical and organizational skills
- Computer literacy and mastery of Excel.
- Be a team player, show initiative and autonomy
- Capacity to work with a minimal level of supervision.
- Fluent in English.
