Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, efficiently handle transactions, and maintain a welcoming shopping environment. This role is perfect for individuals with strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and experience in retail sales or grocery store operations. Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a diverse customer base. The Cashier will play a vital role in ensuring smooth store operations and enhancing the overall shopping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions quickly and efficiently
  • Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their shopping experience
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and integrity
  • Maintain knowledge of store products to assist with product demos and upselling opportunities
  • Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and organizing displays to ensure attractive presentation
  • Conduct product demos when appropriate to promote items and increase sales
  • Enforce phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries via phone or in person
  • Support supervising staff with daily tasks as needed, including training new team members
  • Ensure the checkout area remains clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
  • Promote store promotions and special offers to maximize sales opportunities

Experience

  • Previous cashiering experience in retail or grocery store environments is preferred
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is essential
  • Experience in supervising or leading a team is advantageous but not required
  • Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are highly valued
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in fast-paced settings
  • Knowledge of merchandising, upselling techniques, and product demos will be beneficial
