About the role:
Gartner analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research and provide advice to a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Senior director possesses a keen eye for identifying gaps, problems and solutions within the market they serve, and help clients make better decisions relative to their highest business priorities

As an analyst, you will bring Gartner's research, best practices, and tools to life across a broad range of world class clients. Your focus will be on both the pragmatic research that assists a client in solving today's problems, and provocative research that challenges a client's assumptions on how the future will play out.

Key areas of coverage with be on emerging technologies that will allow Infrastructure & Operations organizations to innovate using new technologies and lay the foundation for continued success and growth. Knowledge (and intellectual curiosity) in areas such as SD-WAN, SASE, cloud connectivity and data center networking are important. You will apply your broad knowledge of technologies, vendors, processes, and best practices to provide actionable insights to our clients.

What you will do:

  • Research, analyze and predict expected (and foresee unexpected) market trends and shifts to provide end-user organizations and vendors with actionable insights.
  • Remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues within the specified areas as well as applicable adjacent areas of emerging technologies.
  • Collaboratively write and publish analysis and positions at a regular cadence through evidence-based research
  • Communicate complex concepts concisely and with authority via virtual or face-to-face interactions with senior-level executives.
  • Present at multiple conferences as an industry expert.
  • Partner with sales and service delivery partners to increase account growth, retention, and engagement

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;
  • 10+ years of experience in related field or industry with a focus on the design and implementation of data networks with forward lean end-user organizations
  • Strong working knowledge of emerging models including SASE and NaaS, and additional expertise in design and optimization of cloud connectivity.
  • Working knowledge of security principles specific to networking including Zero-Trust.
  • Deep expertise in wide area networking connectivity and supporting infrastructure and managed services, network architecture and design, networking security principles and strong level of familiarity with data center networking.
  • Ability to formulate and articulate technology and business adoption scenarios that help senior IT leaders articulate the opportunities, risk, and approaches for a range of existing and emerging network technologies.
  • Knowledge of the major service provider offerings of both US-based and international service providers, along with emerging vendors and technologies.
  • Broad understanding of connectivity drivers including the enterprise application layer, the migration to cloud and edge, and the growing interest in new consumption models.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 128,000 CAD - 144,000 CAD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
