Apex EHS Services is currently recruiting for the position of Hazardous Materials Consultant (Field Technician). This is an entry to intermediate level position and is based out of Nanaimo, BC.

The successful candidate will:

-Conduct hazardous materials surveys of buildings.

-Conduct on-site inspections during removal of hazardous materials.

-Collect and analyze air samples.

-Conduct DOP/POA testing.

-Prepare computer generated reports & drawings detailing investigation findings and recommendations.

The Qualifications we are looking for in this candidate are as follows:

-Experience in hazardous materials consulting is preferred but not required.

-Level S asbestos surveying certificate would be considered an asset but not required.

-Past experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.

-A Bachelor of Science degree is preferred.

-Candidates must be able to work well in a team environment.

-Must be able to lift 25 kg.

-Applicants must possess a high level of verbal and written communication skills.

-An intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.

-This position will require work related travel. Therefore, a valid driver's license is mandatory.

-A company car will be provided.

-This position will sometimes require employees to work outside of normal business hours (overtime, holidays & weekends).
