Summary:

Tsubaki of Canada Limited is seeking a motivated Machinist Helper to support our skilled Machinists in the production of high-precision power transmission components. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals interested in developing hands-on machining skills in a clean, modern manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Journeyman Machinists in setting up and operating manual lathes, milling machines, saws, cutting tables, brake press, iron worker and other machine tools.
  • Load and unload parts, change tools, and perform basic machine adjustments under supervision.
  • Deburr, clean, and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, coolant checks).
  • Material handling – move raw materials and finished parts using overhead cranes, pallet jacks, or forklifts (training provided).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and quality standards (ISO 9001).
  • Support production schedules and meet daily output targets.
    Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset but not required.
  • Basic understanding of machining processes and shop math (fractions, decimals, tolerances).
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Physically able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Valid forklift license is an asset (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
