Arborist Labourer

JOB SUMMARY: An Arborist Labourer is responsible for assisting the crew with site maintenance and clean-up in addition to operating and maintaining maintenance equipment.  This is an entry level position with opportunities for growth and advancement.  

Compensation: $ $25.00 an hour, dependent on experience

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Committed to working safely (fit for work), supporting a positive and productive team environment.  

• Capable of performing physically demanding manual labour in all weather conditions.  

• Loads and unloads trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris and/or feeds brush into a woodchipper.  

• Performs site set-up and take down including unloading and loading equipment; setting up barriers/ warning flags; and keeping the site picked up and orderly.  

• Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned. 

Requirements: 

• A High School Diploma or higher.  

• Work shifts of 8 days on with 6 days off . This is subject to change, and could move to 9 on with 5 off and/ or 10 on and 4 off, during peak times.

• Valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record, air brakes endorsement a plus.

• Ability to work as a crew member in a physically demanding environment.  

• Motivated to work both independently and as a team member and with good time management. 

• Ability to operate and service all required tools and equipment. 

• Working around excessive noise from machines, chainsaws, woodchipper and must wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE). 

• Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, storm work) and will be subject to call-out work. 

• Must have valid First-Aid and CPR certificates.
