What This Role Is All About

We are looking for a Senior Accountant whose strengths lie in compilation engagements, corporate tax, and client-focused problem solving. If you enjoy working closely with business owners, helping them understand their numbers, navigate year-ends, and plan ahead, this role may be a great fit.

In this position, you'll take ownership of compilation files, prepare corporate and personal tax returns, and ensure working papers are complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule. You'll also spot opportunities to streamline client processes or flag areas where additional advisory work may add value.

This role also includes opportunities to support the growth of junior team members and contribute ideas that make our compilation and tax processes even better.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review Notice-to-Reader (NTR) financial statements for a variety of small and mid-sized businesses
  • Prepare and/or review corporate, personal, and trust tax filings
  • Assess client bookkeeping for accuracy and completeness
  • Highlight tax considerations or planning opportunities to management
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff
  • Communicate with clients in a clear, professional, and timely manner
  • Use technology and cloud-based tools to work efficiently and maintain strong documentation standards

What You Bring to the Team

  • CPA designation (or equivalent experience in a public practice environment)
  • Solid experience with compilation files and tax compliance
  • Prior public accounting experience
  • Strong organization, time-management, and communication skills
  • A proactive approach to solving problems and improving processes
  • Comfort using tools such as QBO, Xero, Caseware, TaxPrep, Dext, Wagepoint, iFirm, and similar platforms
  • An interest in mentoring and helping develop less experienced team members
