2 Full-Time Intervenors Required to Support People Who Are Deafblind.

The Alice Saddy Association is seeking 2 Full-Time Intervenors to support individuals who are deafblind and living with developmental disabilities. This is meaningful work that fosters personal growth, fulfillment, and enriched community participation.
As an Intervenor, you will act as a communication bridge between a person who is deafblind and their environment. You will use a variety of communication methods to support daily living activities, enable informed decision making, and empower individuals to participate fully in home and community life.

Key Accountabilities
The successful candidate will:
- Take a holistic, person centered approach grounded in gentleness, respect and a positive, supportive style.
- Respond patiently to non-verbal communication cues, offering calm, reassuring support that promotes autonomy and confidence.
- Use multiple communication methods (ASL, SEE, LSQ, etc.) to facilitate meaningful two-way information exchange.
- Support individuals to explore new opportunities, build relationships, and increase community engagement.
- Advocate for individuals while honouring personal choice, preferences, and self-determination.
- Assist with meal planning, budgeting, healthy lifestyle choices, and personal finances; knowledge of renal or other specialized diets is considered an asset.
- Provide personal care, as required.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues, families/guardians, and community partners.
- Uphold the Association's mission, vision, values, and strategic direction

Week 1 - 33hrs
- Sunday: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
- Monday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
- Tuesday: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
- Wednesday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
- Thursday: OFF

- Saturday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
Week 2 - 33hrs
- Sunday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
- Monday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
- Tuesday: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
- Wednesday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
- Thursday: OFF
- Friday: OFF
- Saturday: 3:00pm - 10:00pm
Position 2
Week 1 - 35hrs
- Sunday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
- Monday: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
- Tuesday: 12:00pm - 10:00pm
- Wednesday: OFF
- Thursday: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
- Friday: 4:00pm - 10:00pm
- Saturday: OFF
Week 2 - 29hrs
- Sunday: OFF
- Monday: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
- Tuesday: 12:00pm - 10:00pm
- Wednesday: OFF
- Thursday: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
- Friday: OFF
- Saturday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
Qualifications
- College diploma or certificate in Intervenor for Deafblind Persons, or related fields such as Developmental Services Worker (DSW), Social Services Worker (SSW), Community Services Worker (CSW), Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA), Personal Support Worker (PSW), Behavioral Science, and/or a combination of education and related experience. Candidates who meet most, but not all, of the qualifications and who demonstrate a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Training and support will be provided.
- Strong ability to motivate, engage, and build trusting relationships.
- Demonstrated initiative, resilience, and a deep understanding of the importance of meaningful relationships and authentic community connections.
- A philosophy aligned with dignity, respect, inclusion, and person-directed support
- A valid Class G driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, current clean driver's abstract, and valid insurance is required.
