The Role:
The cut and pack room has multiple positions which prepares poultry for our end customers. Each position is on a dedicated line which has various functions.
- Transport raw materials finished products and packaging materials throughout plants and warehouses manually or using power equipment.
- Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines.
- Cuts the poultry into primal cuts for further processing or packaging.
- Measure and portion the meat for the sausage linker machine - food and beverage processing.
- Measures the appropriate seasoning for the various meat marinades.
- Weighs the product on scales and then produce labels from the computer.
- Places the processed chicken on the conveyor belt to be weighed and cut into further pieces.
- Receives directions from the Supervisor and divides the work among small line of team members.
- Ensures the line is running safely and effectively.
- Feed and unload food products processing machines.
- Hang chickens from the chiller to the sizing line.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
- Must be able to stand 85% of the workday at a moving conveyor line.
- Physically fit and able to lift, push, and/or pull, weight of up to 40 lbs. (27kg).
- Basic English is considered an asset.
