We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Transportation Coordinator to join our team in Hamilton. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about logistics and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign calls to routes based on designated routes and driver locations

  • Update the driver board daily, organize routes, and track kilometers and fuel usage

  • Act as the main point of contact for day-to-day transportation tasks, collaborating with drivers, clients, sales, procurement, and internal teams

  • Proactively inform procurement and customers about service deviations

  • Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and pickup issues before they impact service

  • Record, document, and analyze operational data to identify improvement opportunities

  • Manage, create, and modify orders using ERP and Ortec routing systems

  • Monitor and resolve inquiries through the ticket management system

  • Analyze customer service data to correct discrepancies (e.g., visit frequency, volumes, container types)

  • Check drivers' logs daily and assign unidentified driving events appropriately

  • Administer inventory control using the ERP system (M3)

  • Conduct physical inventory counts on the production floor

  • Assist with invoice receipt and processing

  • Use creativity and initiative to develop solutions that ensure positive outcomes for our team and customers

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education or courses are an asset

  • 1–2 years of experience in transportation, dispatch, customer service, or finance (industry knowledge is an asset)

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively

  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and general PC operations

  • Experience with ERP systems and routing software

  • Advanced skills in software applications and word processing, including adequate typing speed

  • Spanish language skills are an asset
